Meet the Team

Dr. Stephen J. Harrison

Founder & CTO
Dr. Harrison, is a P.Eng., and Director of the Solar Calorimetry Laboratory located at Queen's University in Kingston, Canada. He has worked in the solar industry for more than 35 years and holds numerous patents in solar thermal technology.

Gary Johnson

Sr. Energy System Analyst
Gary has been working in renewable energy and computers for 40+ years. Getting his M.Sc. at Queen's at the Solar Calorimetry Lab, Gary has worked with QSBRI on and off for the last ten years. Gary provides invaluable experience and knowledge in data acquisition, computer software and hardware. Gary also has extenive knowledge and experience in design and building of energy systems, plumbing and metal fabrication. Seen here building a homemade Go Kart. 

Robert Stinson

Founder & CEO
Bob has a background in sales and marketing, with more than 30 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry. Robert brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of international business, negotiations and relationship management to the company.

Kiet Nyugen

Energy System Analyst
Kiet started working at QSBRI in the fall of 2022 after completing a summer project with the Solar Calorimetry lab, in which he impressed the management of QSBRI so much he was hired on the spot. Kiet brings a wealth of knowledge in energy systems, modeling, and simulation and is an integral part of the QSBRI team. Kiet has a B.ASc. from the University of Toronto and M.Eng. from Queen's University.

Ben Stinson

Founder & General Manager
Ben Stinson, has over a decade of experience in the sales and marketing side of the retail and commercial products sector.  He also works hands on in the lab, playing a significant role in the creation, development, testing, and production of various new technologies.

Ross Breton

Energy System Specialist
Ross started work at QSBRI in 2021 as an intern from St. Lawrance College's Energy Systems Engineering Technologist program. Ross quickly proved himself a capable and reliable team member. Taking a year off from QSBRI to complete his B.Eng. in Ireland, Ross returned full time to QSBRI in June 2023. Ross is a valued member of the team with great hands-on abilities and knowledge in electrical and programing. He is also a great sailor.
